    Short throw shifter

The one company that makes it must be going out of business or is selling off. They were always a sh*t company. I ordered one a couple years ago and had to dispute the charges because I never received it after 2 months. I recently tried their website and it was down.

    Front speakers not working

The problem isn’t with the wire, but the sealant around the plastic.

Recommended preventive maintenance for rear brakes (disc)?

Haha. Also if the drum doesn’t slide off, usually one hit to the face of the drum pops it loose.

Recommended preventive maintenance for rear brakes (disc)?

Just brake clean everything inside. Then to adjust there is a plug on the back that reveals the adjuster. You will need a brake spoon or a screw driver to move it. While adjusting, spin the drum until it has decent drag but not stuck.

Recommended preventive maintenance for rear brakes (disc)?

No matter if it had disk or drums. They all need maintenance. Just cleaned up and lube.

Recommended preventive maintenance for rear brakes (disc)?

Once a year or every 15k miles is what I recommend to customers. Also when I do it on my own cars and friends cars.

On the fence, Prius or Corolla

I also agree to stick with your current Prius. It’s not even broken in yet, and it sounds like you have good luck with it. I would get the spark plugs changed and clean the throttle and drive it.

Dealer installed TRD springs and swaybar when car was new... odd popping noises

I have the rubber damper installed in mine with no problems. I did find out sometimes the bolts will get a little loose after too much flexing. Causing a weird popping noise when flexing or turning hard.

No factory caster or toe adjustment?

Don’t worry about caster, it won’t wear your tires. Just as long as its close to the other side, it should be fine. The rear toe can be adjusted with shims and is a pain in the ass. You may even need a new wheel bearing when putting the shim in.

    2020 Corolla Hybrid

Just did a PDI on a 2020 hybrid, didn’t think they were coming out this early. Definitely quicker than a non hybrid corolla. But here are some pictures.

    Front speakers not working

Thats not bad. It depends on what your dealer labor rate, but its about 2-3 hours of labor for the wire repair. But if it needs a speaker it jumps high.

Most of us Probably have a "Recall" (CVT)

Both actually. But I think I’m my whole shop of 18 techs, we have replaced maybe 3 valve bodies. I haven’t heard of anyone replacing the whole CVT yet.

Most of us Probably have a "Recall" (CVT)

Have fun. Not many cvt’s have failed. Personally I’ve done at least 60 updates and haven’t had one with a problem. Haha

    Front speakers not working

Ok so it’s not a hard repair. Take the door panel off and cut the connector for the speaker and crimp a female connector on each and plug in. The duct tape the plastic down.

I want to increase my New Corolla 1.8 HP...

They used the 2ZZ-GE which was in the old corolla s and matrix AWD. They came with 180ish hp and I think in Europe they supercharged them. But Toyota is all about fuel Economy now. But the new corolla hatch has the new 2.0l with 168hp and a new smart 6speed manual trans. Along with a lot of cool...
