14 Rolla suspension

#1
Have put over 130k miles on struts and can feel the difference in the. Want to replace but I believe the front have springs? Mechanics have told me they are dangerous to compress, and thoughts?
And are only the front springs? If so I can do the back struts easily, any recommendations on struts/springs(if needed).

Update! So from research I have found that I can buy a full assembly from a decent brand like kyb or Monroe, these are easy to put on since the spring is already assembled I believe.

The springs can be compressed with a spring compressor tool. You can buy a set from Harbor Freight for roughly $20usd.
Or rent one from an auto parts store.
Make sure to loosen the top center nut, before you remove the strut.
Lots of YouTube videos on it.

Replacing the springs is very simple with a spring compressor tool. The rear is super easy but the front isn't hard by any means. I would never use a POS strut like Monroe. The OEM is KYB or you can invest in a set of BC coilovers that are also pre-assembled and that allows you to adjust the ride height and dampening.
