my friends brother in law is letting us use a 1980 1.8 for this up and coming work season thinking all we had to do was replace the starter, we did that and we still just get the dreaded click when the key is turned. we tested the starter and its fine, checked to see if the lights dim when we crank and they do which rules out the ignition switch, we have been trying to locate the starter relay but since the entire car is jerry rigged that is looking to be the hardest part of this job...any help?

we checked the voltage on the battery and its fine...cars been sitting for about 6 months...we have been using an alternate battery source too (plugged in) its a device to jump batteries when they are dead....we just changed the ignition switch and same result still...so far we have changed the starter, switch, and checked the battery...cant find the relay if there is one...not sure about that
boostjunkie92 - So how did you make out with this problem? Update?
