I have a '92 Corolla work car. The dome light has not worked since I got it. I was tinkering around with it today. I am getting power at the fuse, and on the clips on both sides of the bulb. The light will not come on though. When I was testing it, I accidentally touched the tester probe to the ground screw and the hot (wire? - it a flat piece of metal, more than a wire) and the light came on. It will not turn off when you move the switch to OFF or DOOR though, just continual. My thoughts are that the ground is bad on the switch and that I can most likely buy a new (or used) assembly and that should work. Am I wrong in this thinking?
