1992 Toyota Corolla Electrical Gremlins...

#1
This morning, the shifter was frozen in park and after calling a longtime mechanic he suggested that there is usually a way to defeat this situation. Looking around I found it and the shifter was free and I was on my merry way but strangely the A/C was no longer functional. Add to this that the shifter is locked everytime that I start the car so something is amiss considering the A/C went out at the same time.

Checking the owner's manual, there was no useful info regarding fuse locations and values for both items.

Anyone one have advice? It's hot out there and now inside the car as well.

Sounds like multiple problems. If the car has a security system, that might lock you in park if it's not working right. Other than that id say you have a bad ground wire somewhere.
