1996 Corolla NO CRANK NO START

96 Toy Corolla 1.6L NO CRANK NO START. Battery was disconnected. Vehicle was silent when cranking in ign crank mode. No power from ignition switch to starter. Does this vehicle have a anti theft. I look on the driver floor there's a flashing red light attached to a wire going to a square flat box. Maybe a computer. Ummm... . What does that mean? Any help be awesome. Thanks! Oh, Starter was replaced. No affect. Same problem.

u probly have some soft of anti theft system. sounds like your in lock out mode.. do u have any power elsewhere? headlite radio cigg liter?????

Sounds like an aftermarket anti-theft device was installed on your car. You might need the skills of a thief to disable it! lol

to defeat it... you have to trace it. there should be an ignition wire that has been cut and had that unit installed into it.

Yeah, should be easy to remove. Just posted this a few minutes ago. Look at where the wires from the box splice into the wires under the dash. There is usually one wire that is cut and the box is wired between the two ends. This is the magic wire. Just cut out the box, and splice this wire back together and VIOLA! No more anti-theft device... Seriously, any theif with half a brain could defeat one of these crappy after market systems in seconds.
