1997 Corolla

Heyy guys, I have a question about my car.
I have a 1997 Toyota Corolla, it is a manual transmission car and it will run fine for a few days and then all of a sudden it starts running loudly then dies. But when it dies its like it just stalls out and throws a check engine light. When I try to turn it back on immediately it just dies again. If i wait about ten minutes it will turn back on and run fine. I have changed the spark plugs and wires and distributor cap and rotor. I also deleted my EGR valve. I've been trying to figure it out for like 3 weeks and everything I've done hasn't helped. I've gotten the codes read a few times and the one that keeps popping up is p0401 which is the EGR and p1300.
The possible causes or p1300 says:
-Open or short circuit condition.
-Check CPK sensor output.
-Repair cylinder misfire condition. And
-Failed igniter.
Please help me, I'm not sure what else to do. Thanks for your time:)

The first thing to do will be to get the EGR valve back on the engine for improved performance, better fuel economy, better drivability and so you don't break federal law and potentially get hit with expensive fines.

After the EGR valve is functioning properly again, then we have a baseline to work from.
