Hello, I'm the proud owner of a beat up 2000 Corolla.
The car is a bit noisy to begin with but just recently a new sound has been coming from under the hood.
It tends to happen more with the A/C on. The A/C, however, is pumping out lots of cold air.
It sounds like rattling metal, pots and pans and seems to be emanating from the back part of the engine, closest to the dash board. I've stuck my head in there a few times but I can't really see what I'm hearing. Its kind of intermittent, becoming more pronounced when the A/C is blasting more air. Sometimes, if its rattling, I'll just hit the gas and it goes away for a little bit. I'll probably take it in, but I thought I'd try here first and get an idea.
If my compressor is broken, would I still be getting cold air? thanks,
