2003 Strut Replacement - Should I Get Full Assembly With Springs?

#1
I was told by the garage that I needed all 4 struts. $$$. I have someone to help me who is more handy than I am. Should I buy the full asm with springs so we don't have to bother with the spring compressing? Seems like there are Monroe ones (full asm) available. Do not mind spending a little more if someone has a better suggestion (still a fraction of shop $$$). If I am buying just struts, I will go OEM unless someone tells me a different brand is better.

Thanks.

Monroe struts/shocks are excellent. If you replace the struts, make certain a 4-wheel alignment is done immediately afterwards as the vehicle will be out of alignment and wear out tires much faster than you want. The fuel economy will also be reduced with a vehicle that's out of alignment.
