2005 Corolla - 110,000 km - Good Buy?

#1
Hi.

I need a cheap reliable car. I am in still snowy Quebec, Canada. I could get a 5 speeds manual 2005 110000km Toyota Corolla for 5400$ (CAD). It looks like new but it is still an old car.

Anything i would need to look for to be sure it is in great mechanical shape?

Thanks!

Find a mechanic friend and have him check it out.

If that, or taking it to a shop isn't an option, then carefully check panels, make sure they all line up, and that the paint color is exactly the same. Check the oil, make sure it isn't below min, sludged, or contains metal flake.

When you drive the car, brake while hovering your hands over the wheel to see if it pulls to one side, check for odd noises while it is running, check the drivebelt, and make sure the car rides well.

110,000 km is around what, 70,000 miles? That isn't bad. I'd try to get it down to $4500 if it is a base model with no options.
