2006 Corolla Transmission Drain Plug

#1
Hello all,

I got a very odd situation, today I decided to do a flush on my transmission, I got a 2006 corolla with an automatic transmission. to my surprise, when I got under the car remove the drain plug on the tranny, the bolt turns freely but does not come out, it turns freely to the left or right, either way it does not come out. I can feel it a bit looser then it tightens up a bit then it feels loose again. what is stranger there are no oil leaks. I'm at a loss with this one. has anybody experience this or know if this is a factory plug that has to be drilled out or what?

any info would be apreciated.

Thanks

That depends on where the bolt is stripped or not. It's not unusual to have a bolt stripped at a point where it still is able to provide a liquid seal so the transmission fluid or oil, doesn't leak out.
