I picked up a 2006 corolla le with 293k on it for 500 bucks a couple weeks ago. I have already done engine oil, air filter, cabin filter, fixed a 15 amp fuse, both high beam bulbs, new windshield. I have checked the tranny fluid hot and running and it is reddish clear and doesnt smell burnt. The previous owner got the car at 190k and put 100k on it in 2 years. Im thinking i should change the transmission fluid and filter for peace of mind. My quiestions are; is this overkill, should I use type 4 toyo fluid, and do I need to change the filter?
