2007 - RPM Increases When Clutch Pressed Down

#1
Apologies if similar topic has been already posted and discussed, but I was unable to find appropriate answers to similar issues.

Anyway, I've just bought a toyota corolla ascent 2007 hatchback 1.8 manual 6 speed.

It's in good condition, it runs smoothly and all good, except the "issue" (which I am not sure if it's issue, anyway) given by increase in rpm when clutch is pressed, before changing a gear. I usually drive in low gearing (shifting gears at about 2000-2500 rpm).
I also noticed when I change the gear at higher rpm, the above mentioned does not happen (rpms do not increase).

Is this normal and is it perhaps related to computer sistem controlling the drive?
The car is still under warranty...

Thanks for answers in advance.
Cheers

I have same issue

Hi there,

I am the same issue. I have a 2001 Corolla CE. Bought it yesterday. Runs great, but like the OP, when I press in the clutch pedal the rpms jump by 200. Hope someone has some info. Not sure if normal, or if it even matters.

Thanks
