2010 Corolla Rear Brake Shoe "Problem"

#1
Hi Everyone,

I have an interesting "problem" that I'm hoping someone can help me solve. I have about 144K miles on my 2010 Corolla, and as far as I know the rear brake shoes have never been replaced (at least since I bought the car with 28K miles on it). The "problem" that I have is that the shoes are barely worn down at all. I measured the remaining pad at 4mm, and the new shoes have 5mm of pad on them. Any idea why the rear brakes aren't wearing down more? By now I figured they would be almost gone. I checked them about a year ago and they were in a similar spot.

For reference, I have replaced the front disk brakes about 40-50K miles ago and they still have plenty of pad left, so I don't seem to be wearing them out any faster than normal. I don't notice any issues when stopping, and the E-brake holds just fine.

Thank you in advance!
