Corolla Door Wont Open!

So just yesterday when it was freezing cold I went and opened my drivers side door on my 1990 Toyota corolla SR5 and it opened and shut fine. I got home from work and opened my door but then it would not shut so I took the handle off the inside and pushed one of the rods until it kind of clicked then it shut but now I cannot get it back opened! Any suggestions on what I could do or what is wrong?

pull the rod that you pushed before. take the inside door panel off. look inside for linkage that is not hooked up. put some lithium grease on moving parts. inspect for something broken, etc. adjust the door hinge or the strike pin for smooth operation without binding.
