I have a question regarding the proper way of installation wheel covers (hubcaps). I have bought some replacement hubcaps (relatively cheap) to replace existing hubcaps because I lost one in drive.

My friend told me this is wrong and this is often mistake. I have found this [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OO5by6iRoY"]tip (please see from 1:40 min)[/ame] where he says that retention ring's bend is going upwards i.e. toward the wheel.
In my case I need to choose between left and right option. What is correct?
