Eco-Mode On A Corolla

#1
Just wondering,

I have a 2006 1.4 diesel corolla, a friend of mine has a Peugeot 307 and when the electrics in the car are left on for a long time and the battery wears down the car goes into Eco-mode and the battery is left with enough charge to restart again. Is there anything like this that can be done to a corolla? That will stop me being left stranded with a dead battery?

Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the Corolla Forum! :thumbup1::clap::):party::balloon:

I've never heard of what you mention, although it sounds like a good idea.

A diesel Corolla? What country do you live in?

If you know enough about computers, you could build a circuit that would attach to your headlight circuit and dome light circuit, but even then, this would involve programming (a simple timer wouldn't work since the timer couldn't tell the difference between the engine running or not).

There are no retrofit kits available due to the cost and lack of demand. None that I have seen anyway.

Yes there is a device that you can attach to the battery, I forget the name of it, 12vdc battery saver.

when battery sits dormant, will shut down battery to allow safe starts. I am going back a good ten plus years on this.

A solar charger, or booster will be your better option. left I nthe trunk.
