Is it safe to shift into Sport mode while driving or better if I'm at a complete stop (like a stop light) and then switch to sport mode? Would i be wearing out the tranny shifting while driving?

The sport button is all electronics, throttle response, stiffer steering, higher revs, has nothing to do with the tranny

Sport mode has nothing to do with tranny ! Reprograms accelerator response making it more responsive. You can shift to sport mode any time you want to.

I'm still wondering what would happen if I were to simply add the sport button to mine.

Ok I was just wondering since the Sport mode is on the shifter so I assumed it works off the tranny
