Has Anyone Removed the Chrome Trim From the Bumper on Their S?

I plan on plasti dipping the strip on my g/f's S. I'm not sure what's underneath it but don't want holes from clips or anything like that. If it's just held on with 3m, she might let me remove it completely.

Have you removed it or modded it? I am curious to know what is under it as I just bought an all black S and the only thing that I didn't like was that chrome trim.
