I need new CV joints!

#1
So my 2015 S plus is really protesting now when cornering and in reverse.....clacking from the cv joints...both sides...sigh.
I'm only at 80k miles but driving hard has its $ downsides.

I'm posting this to the forum as I need guidance for who to hire?

I have confidence in my local Indy shop to replace both half shafts with oem shafts I'm gonna order online. Or is there some secret tool needed that only my dealership has. Will the cvt tranny cause any special procedure my Indy shop might not be familiar with? And warranty? Might I get a better/longer warranty if the dealership does the job? Any other gotchas?

Thanks for any comments!

No secret tool. Both ends have splines. It's just labor intensive. You need to remove some components out of the way to get the axles out. Toyota has a parts warranty which I believe is 1 year. You need to call both the dealer and independent shop to find out what their warranty is on the labor. Find a shop that specializes in Japanese vehicles and never use a tire shop to do real work.
