LE Eco - Rough Idle and Check Engine Light

So, I've had the 2014 Corolla LE Eco since mid-November and it is back in the shop again today for a check engine light. It had a horrible idle, and the last time this happened, I couldn't get the car to accelerate above 2000 rpms.

In December I was told that the car left the plant without the updated software being installed, so they updated the software. Everything was grand until the issue reappeared last night.

Thankfully the dealership is AWESOME and was able to get my car in today and provide me with a rental. I also have to say that Toyota Roadside Assistance was AMAZING as I scheduled a pick up for today and they arrived 1/2 hour EARLY!!

I really hope I just have a "bad" part that can be replaced easily and that this isn't a recurring issue. Anyone else experiencing any similar issues?

My S has been beautiful to me as of about two months ownership.

If it does this a third time, I'd invoke Lemon Law and have them put you in another LE Eco.

In AZ the law is 4 times for the same issue withi. The first two years/24k miles. Thankfully, I have the car back and it's working fine for now. They said that it was a glitch in the ECU and that Toyota had a bulletin out with the repair for it. We'll see if the fix "stays" in place linger than the last one did.

I have a different issue that I am working through with my LE ECO Plus. To help me figure out what is going on I bought an Ultragauge. I read a bunch of guys on the forums talking about ScanGauge and so I google'd it and read up on what these things are. You shouldn't have to spend money to try to figure out what is wrong with a brand new car. But I like to play around with gadgets anyway so I bought one. I went with the Ultragauge over scangauge because I liked the display better on the Ultragauge. It is also half the price depending on which one you buy. If your interested here are some links. I'm a gadget guy, it is a cool toy. No I don't work for either company, before anyone brings that up.

Sorry to say that my recurring (twice) check engine light ended up meaning a cylinder head needed replaced. Doing now. Service Department determined this through the Codes that registered. Joined this forum to see if anybody else has had my issue. So far, thankfully not. My LE Eco only has 13,500 on it !
