Oil in Distributor

#1
so car's been sputtering the past two weeks and all I've done to fix it (changed plugs, changed wires, cleaned TB, cleaned IAC valve, checked for leaks) didn't work until I finally popped the distributor cap open to check it then found oil pooled at the bottom part of it, essentially drowning the second terminal in it...

so I cleaned it up, and spayed some carb cleaner, allowed it to dry and put it back in... car's been running well ever since... I'd check again in a few days if the oil comes back...

now my question is, where did the oil come from and how do I fix it? someone said it'd be the O-ring, another said the cam shaft seal... I'd like to ask some inputs from you guys what I need to do... thanks in advance!

Hi the oil seal of the distributor should be replace. Have that problem but what i have done is to remove the rubber gasket between the rotor cap and distributor to let the oil drain while waiting the oil seal bought in ebay. cheers! Happy motoring!
