Replacement Hood/Fender

Anyone have +/- experiences with online purchase of large items such as hood or fender? Want to repair a great running 30+mpg slightly hail dented '94 Corolla with hood/fender/grill. Checked out a few online sites that either offered free shipping or lower prices plus reasonable shipping charges. The total charges were similar from the online sites I checked out (140/45/20). The total charges for NEW CAPA-certified hood/fender/grill were good enough to avoid checking out the local junk yards. Opinions please....

Well the best price online for new CAPA-certified hood/fender/grill is 170 shipped....new parts, primered, shipped to front door = the repairs begin within budget.

Ordered all my parts at the lowest possible price on the net: hood, bumper, fender from JC Whitney with 10 or 20% off i forget and amazingly no shipping surcharge for shipping the hood or bumper. Last time I checked the website the prices have increased and saw a shipping surcharge for the hood and bumper. The parts came quickly and were super clean unlike any junkyard deal which sometimes may not be a deal if grimy with 15-17 years of road dirt and rust. There might be some discount opportunities with cyber Monday or weekly specials for the holidays....good luck

Unfortunately the new replacement parts I have encountered all seem to be imported from radiators, headlights, rotors in cars to HVAC capacitors, blower motors to commercial refrigeration compressors and on and on. If they can ship imported granite slabs nothing is off limits. I paid a bit more for CAPA certified parts so as a consumer I know a bit more about the part than what generic parts a repair shop would have used to repair vehicle damage with insurance company cooperation. The project Corolla is over 18 years old and buying "quality" non-China replacement parts would be challenging. I posted asking for information about replacement body parts but received little to no information. So far the parts look and fit great and that's what I have to share. IMO the quality of the replacement body parts are very similar to the discarded OEM sheet metal hood and fender.

I just picked up a fender from a junk yard, and I could not believe how weak the metal is on these things. Even if the replacement parts are from China the only way they could be any worse is if they are made of paper! This just helped finalize my plans for this free beater car, I'm going to finish up a few dent and ding repair and it's getting truck bed lined!

I know you're looking for new, but car-part.com searches every online junkyard. I found a perfect shaped color matched fender shiped for 45 bucks...saves the hassle of getting it painted.

I know this is an old thread, but I searched it because I'm in this situation too.
I bought a 2002 from my older brother. I put some money into it, including another motor,
and I want to get parts of it repainted.

The body shop guy told me to get another hood, which I have no problem doing, but I don't want a
flimsy, ill-fitting hood.
Can he order me a good one, or should I get a clean one from a yard?
