I've got a 98 Corolla and at approx 45mph the engine surges. It almost feels like the trans converter is locking and unlocking or like the A/C compressor is going on and off. Also, when I stop it feels like the engine is almost going to stall. The car has only 51,000 miles on it and otherwise drives like a new car.
