Trouble Reading Dipstick

#1
Alright, so my 2002 Corolla S has been verified to have a "minor" oil burning issue according to Desert Toyota in Las Vegas, around 4,000 miles ago.

Between then and now, I added a total of two quarts of oil after religiously checking the dipstick. Each time I added, I added half a quart a time, just what my service advisor told me.

So I am 1,000 miles away from my next oil change and I decided to make a monthly checkup on my dipstick. But this time, I noticed two things. First, the dark spot of the oil (visible in the picture I attached) is JUST over the low-oil notch. However! There is a thin film of golden, fresh new oil that is barely visible thats actually right past the FULL-OIL notch.

So I am not sure what to read from this. It seems like I have burnt oil at the base of the dipstick, and fresh fancy oil at the full line but in barely noticeable traces.

Can you take a look and tell me what you think?
