Water pump and stuff

LOL... I have'nt worked on a Toyota since I built an 18RG and put it into my 1962 Austen Healey Sprite.
Anyway, I just picked up a 2007 CE with 140K miles and I'm going to change the serpentine belt because I can see cracking on the edges. It's time. While I'm at it I'm going to do the water pump, thermo and belt tensioner.
I was checking out some You Tube "how to" videos and I was surprised to that the factory water pump is different (different thicknesses on some of the mounting flanges and different length bolts) than the typical aftermarket replacements or the original factory.
So my question is... What's the advantage of a newer factory version over the higher-end pumps on Rock-Auto? Has anyone seen a difference?
I also see two different spring designs on the belt tensioner. Is there there an advantage of one over the other?
Are there any manufacturers that I should stay away from, regarding the pump too?
Any input or comment on this is welcome.
Thanks,
GSDrew
