Windshield Wiper/Washer System Intermittent

2014 Corolla S

My wiper system function (including the spray washer) has been intermittent. My specific Corolla is not part of the associated recall. My Toyota dealer was not able to reproduce the problem. I insisted they do something, so they replaced the wiper switch. All was well for weeks, then of course, the problem manifested itself again, and the car is back at the dealer.

Have any of you experienced this issue?

Can you post a video on YouTube and link it? Perhaps that'll give us a better understanding about what issue you're referring to.

Video not needed. The washer or wipers won't activate first thing in the morning. After ~ 1/2 hr of driving, the system will function again.

Where are you located at? Been getting cold? Possible that the washer fluid is freezing ... as far as the wipers go, I dunno ... but it sounds like something is possibly getting frozen until the car warms up.

SF Bay Area. Morning temp has been ~60Deg F.

Without having seen a system interconnect, and based on the symptom, it seems obvious the washer is part of the wiper system. Could be bad connector contacts, PCB, microcontroller / firmware, ESD sensitivity...who knows...

Anyway, the car is still at the dealer. I'm looking forward their assessment...maybe today.

Keep us posted, and 60° shouldn't be an issue. I'm talking more like single digit temps. Hopefully they get to the bottom of it.
