no, a CVT is not designed for performance at all, its a medal belt. you keep posting on here about hot rodding your corolla, it will never be fast. nothing about the corolla is designed for performance, its a cheap economy car. you obviously want a faster car so stop dumping your money into your corolla and focus on a car designed for performance. theres a reason why there a very few performance parts available for this car, it cant handle worth while power improvements and still be reliable for a long duration. if you want decent fuel economy and better performance get a civic si or something with a geared transmission.

Is there any aftermarket parts for the CVT to make it handle more power and torque?
First, out with the myth that CVT are weak and fragile by nature. See video below. ;)

That doesn’t mean that the K313 will handle anything as it is designed for medium duty by Toyota-Aisin and, like any CVT, operates within very specific parameters (even T-A engineers had to update their firmware…). Not sure about the need to change those unless you have a specific project, since none of the most commonly available mods (it really not Corolla’s market) like CAI, light weight pulleys, even small turbos and such don’t transform the car into a Bugatti anyway!

yes this is the kind of things that makes building cars so much fun because people always say it will never be fast the a few months later you show them how wrong they were :)

There is a big difference in our cvt and that one lol
Indeed ! Just making the point that contrary to some people believe, a CVT is not by principle unable of performance. That being said, the one in Corolla is clearly engineered for... Corolla use ! As I mentioned, the way modern transmissions are engineered, especially CVT, change one parameter and... who knows !

I don't think people question the possibility as much as the relevance. Actually, most people simply don't care : they buy a car that suit their budget and expectations for going from A to B. The possibility is there, as shown by this 1000 hp Corolla that ends up costing... the same as any other 1000 hp car plus time !
