Low Oil Pressure on a 2019 Hatchback XSE

Oil not check upon delivery, faulty sensor... whatever, why bother : it's a brand new car, you have warranty. Just leave it to the dealer !

    2017 LE Interior Rattles?

Yeah... In all probability some generic foam tape here and there ! :) Many report this on forums, although your case seems extreme ! I wonder if it has to do with assembly plant (or moment). Mine is from Cambridge (Canada) and I do experience some rattling, but only fort short periods when...

Most of us Probably have a "Recall" (CVT)

Not a bad thing to do, but NHTSA deals with safety recalls. For instance, the Civic's CVT was a safety recall because pulleys could physically break,, bringing the car to an immediate and abrupt stop. No such case with this service campaign. At most, the car would enter limp mode if, by any bad...

Toyota Corolla - RPM revs up to 4000

CVTs have a lot more engine braking than conventional AT to begin with. Now, since you mention cruise control the issue would be more with that than the CVT as some report it. It's apparently the way it was engineered (not that it's a good thing !).

Info about 2019 HB SE usb audio capability

Since I don't own a 2019 and its system is totally new, I have no idea how it operates but base on my 2014 system, just a couple of thought : Really ? I've used up to 128 gb drives on the current system. Beside navigating by folders, I suppose you also have the option to navigate by artist...

Most of us Probably have a "Recall" (CVT)

Good idea to make fluid replacement a separate issue for the reason you give and because of the way work is organized in shops. "Lifetime" fluid is an urban legend coming from a misinterpretation of the maintenance schedule, which only say mandatory change at 60K in case of severe usage. But it...

Most of us Probably have a "Recall" (CVT)

No. For what's it's worth, forums reports 30K units affected and 170K not affected. 70K ? S versions ? Yes, but with scarce reports on forums, it's still hard to conclude. All in all, some needed the VBC replacement, some noticed behavior improvement (units already on the verge of "premarture...

    Display Unit Hard Drive

Hard drives, like anything else, may fail (had 2 on computers). Firmware problem, not likely (unless some interaction with a newer phone / OS induce it. 6K is insane (google it, you can find new ones for 4k (still... ) or on eBay for 1 to 1.5K (still again...). Causes may vary but there are a...

2016 Toyota Corolla S Special Edition - Gas Mileage

Yes. Yet other factors come into consideration: tire thread purpose and quality, driving conditions most encountered (wider loses its advantages on wet, snowy, icy road), engineering of the car, personal preferences/priorities... Any car configuration, especially tires, is a compromise.

    FUEL CAPACITY

Mine is the same way, with the big exception that it generally does give me a 60-80 miles range. Per the manual, you still have 2 gallons left when the low fuel light comes on. It also depend at what point this occur. If you're in heavy traffic, or multiple stop and go (or just out of it) the...

2016 Toyota Corolla S Special Edition - Gas Mileage

All other things being equal (with Corolla, 15”, 16” and 17” having a same total diameter), bigger tires are heavier and wider, hence more friction thus inertia. When I bought my 2014 LE Eco, the “Plus” option bigger wheels came with an official 1 mpg penalty (other fancier equipment like GPS...

Most of us Probably have a "Recall" (CVT)

It's full synthetic and 10K is reasonable as full synthetic can go a long way. But like with regular oil, it also depends on driving condition (short trips, stop and go, dusty environment, towing...). The thing is : in Canada (probably because of winter) Toyota still recommends 5K intervals. Its...

2016 Toyota Corolla S Special Edition - Gas Mileage

City driving (especially stop and go with fast acceleration / deceleration), short trips, S bigger wheels... all contribute to less MPG

Most of us Probably have a "Recall" (CVT)

JSD replaces JOD. It's the same firmware update for the same potential problem but with a "better" procedure to establish if the transmission also need some repair and how to do it. We haven't heard of many cases where the CVT had actually suffer the "premature" wear this correct so I don't...

    TPMS MODULE 897A0-02011 Replacement

When you change a transmitter, you have to reinitialize the module , kind of presenting the new transmitter to it. I assume if you changed the module, you have to do the same procedure so the new module recognize your transmitters. I have no idea how it's done, though...

Most of us Probably have a "Recall" (CVT)

You're welcome ! P2820 sounds like it, plus the fact that they honored the post-warranty replacement. Glad it turns out well for you. We haven't seen many actual failure case on forums despite the number of units on the road which is somewhat reassuring !

    Start off engagement

CVTs are at their best and most efficient with gradual acceleration. They don't "slip", but that's not an uncommon perception among people not familiar with the way they work and comparing it to regular AT. They do tend to jerk somewhat if floored. Only you could determine if your's does it too...

Dipstick drawn out while Engine running

It's not a problem - beside not getting any accurate reading on the dipstick this way ! It's not like you were riding that way for miles after miles.

Most of us Probably have a "Recall" (CVT)

If the trouble is service campaign related (Valve body control), the campaign provide for a replacement whatever the mileage. If the trouble is something else, that might be another story. $6K... look at salvaged option.

2020 12th gen Corolla sedan (official)

iM had nothing to do with Yaris. You may be confusing with Auris, Corolla's name on some market. The iM was really a Corolla hatchback marketed as a Scion in attempt to save the already doomed brand. Which was foolish, since the Corolla name has far more equity. So the only inventory involved...
