2003 Corolla CE - Check Engine Light Question

I have an 03 corolla and the engine light came on when I checked the codes there was a p0171 and a p0420 and i know that those can be thrown sometimes for things as simple as a gas cap being loose or somerime major things. So i checked a few of the basics (spark plugs, o2 sensors, gas cap, ect) and cleared the codes and they havent come back. About 2 weeks later my ac started working off and on and noe it won't work at all. So I was wondering if there maybe a connection between them and possible places to check to fix. Or if its completely different and some suggestions on where to start?

There is literally zero connection between your a/c and check engine lights. None..... The check engine light will only come on if your vehicles emission equipment has a fault. Happy motoring
