2014 Corolla Kenwood ddx 9903s Aftermarket Install

#1
Every car I've owned I have had to add something to the sound system. After buying this car back in Feb of 14, I thought it would only need a sub. That lasted a while and over the summer I had the itch to install a new head unit and eventually replace the rear deck speakers. I will list below what I have down so far. Feel free to ask any questions, I will try to elaborate where I can.

Installed:
Kenwood ddx 9903s Head Unit/ with Maestro interface to keep steering wheel controls and car inputs, tire pressure, doors open, engine alerts etc.
Actiontec ScreenBeam Mini2 HDMI wireless Screen mirroring dongle
Front Speakers still stock.
Rear Deck m6+ CDT 6.5 Mid Bass Woofer
Powered by Rockford Fosgate p400x1
Sub, JL Audio W7 13.5" sub, custom box.
Powerd by Phoenix Gold TI 1200.1
1/0 Power cable from Optima Red Battery, big 3 upgrade
Added 2 headrest monitors
Front camera on license plate (it was free)
Wireless charger for Galaxy S7
Added bank of 12v outlets with constant power.

Below I have some links to with the install and afterwards. I was a little apprehensive about tearing apart the front panel because of the soft foam of the dash. I found a video on You tube of guy who dove in and figured it out. The dash came off easy and so did the stock stereo. If you havent removed the stereo before you will find a nice surprise of a huge, cavernous open space that I have never witnessed in all my years of installing car stereos. This made stuffing the cables and accessories SOO much easier, and few times I had to trouble shoot and take the stereo in and out was also helpful with the big gaping install hole.

The Maestro interface required a download and a flash, WIndows only, that was pretty straightforward. This hooked up with the existing wiring harness from the corolla. Fairly easy. There are a lot of options and inputs/outputs on the ddx 9903s. I wont go into huge detail, there is plenty of reading material/videos on this head unit. Listing few here, DVD (no Bluray), HDMI input ( I installed a streaming stick/Phone mirror), Android Auto / Apple Car play, Future intergration with K40 radar detectors (looks awesome but pricey). USB inputs, Optional Sirius input. video inputs/outputs, Rear and front camera. And i'm sure I forgot some other stuff too.

I installed the video monitors in the head rest, this was also fairly straightforward. The only issue is that they did not have a remote turn on lead, only battery and ground. So this required a relay to be installed, wasnt a huge issue but took some time. I was able to get video on all three screens, nothing fancy for the head unit, you just have to ground the parking brake lead and your front passenger can watch while you drive :). The USB, and Aux were extended to a new flush mount terminal that fit perfectly in the dash cluster. I extended the USB from the back to where I charge my Galaxy s7 for my Android Auto connection.

I will post some pics, and I wont go into huge detail right now about the install but if you have any questions or comments feel free to ask.

The only thing I haven't changed yet is the head unit.
I replaced the front door speakers with Kenwood P709S 6-1/2" component. Tweeters wouldn't fit to my liking so I used a set from Kicker. Replaced rear deck speakers also with P709S and installed the tweets in the C pillars. For now, Kenwood 4 channel amp powers all those.
12" DVC Kicker loaded enclosure in the trunk (single) sub with Kicker CX1200.1 amp.
All wiring is Monster and Kicker.
Monitor mirror with wi-fi, mirror link for iPhone. Front camera mounted under front lip of car so that once it's lowered I won't tear up the bumper on any curbs.
About to upgrade the 4 channel amp and add another sub set up.
So, what was your question?

@Chris Denton are you happy with your Kenwood? Would you recommend it?
Sorry for being off topic.

I'm in the process of upgrading my stock stereo and looking for a good one.

From my research Kenwood is a good option. But can't make up my mind. All the reviews I've read so far are hype garbage. Actually I've tracked down a site that tells it how it is. I was eyeing the DDX9704S radio thanks to the review.

Can you tell me how bad the is the screen glare? What about the price is there enough value to justify it?

I'm open for suggestions
