Just purchased my Corolla March 26. Hailstorm wrecked it. :( hasn't been appraised yet, but as an insurance adjuster (inside not out) I'm 90% positive its totaled.

Texas?

Anyway, do your research on insurance claims. The first thing you'll learn if you don't know already: don't take their first offer. Also, if you do your research, maybe you can build a case as to why it should be totaled (if they don't want to total it).

Without seeing pictures of the roof, I'm not sure what it would cost to repair the damage. The rear window is about $450, mirror cover and door stuff is around another $300. Most of the cost will be the labor to pop up the dings in the roof and hood and prep + paint.

Rear taillights are about $150 each, but they can probably find a cheaper 3rd party brand for that (Tyco).

Only total I've seen so far on this generation was a guy that got rear-ended into another car. All airbags deployed, and those alone were $11k

I have damage to my a pillars (which is why I feel it's gonna be totaled) and the front windshield needs replacement too. Also, hail busted through the rear speakers and blew them out :/. If you'd like, I'll take better quality photos of the vehicle in the daylight.

Also, there is slight water damage. :(

That is what I was thinking. Oklahoma was also on my list as they also get the monster hail. I love my cars so much that I do not think I can fathom living in parts of the country where you have to constantly worry about hail of that size each spring and summer.

Honestly, this is highly abnormal for San Antonio. We haven't had hail since maybe 06 or 07 and that hail was one storm, pea to brussel sprout sized and lasted 20 minutes. It was mostly rain with that storm. Hail tends to be more common in northern parts of the state.

Yes they did 16k in damage. The loan is for 17k. Lol. Still carless 1.5 months later. State farm is terrible.
Next time around, pay a little extra and go with a more premium insurance company. State farm has fancy marketing, but they are just as bad as those discount insurance companies. State farm has also been in hot water numerous times with the government over some of their business practices that I remember a while ago.

No worries. I'm a licensed adjuster in every state. They knew not to mess with me after I told them I had a Texas license and previously worked for Usaa mercury and currently Allstate. Lol. But yeah. I'm probably gonna jump in with Usaa this time.
