White stains on tail light?

Hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like the surface was burned with a buffing wheel. If not, it could be the UV coating starting to peel. You may want to try and use a product designed to polish poly-carbonate headlights.

You need to post a clearer photo. I'm guessing the white stains are calcium deposits. You can Google different methods to remove it. Most methods call for vinegar and some baking soda or lemon mixture. I'd try it in a small area first to make sure it works.

I didn't realize how bad that picture was. The clear part looks like it has cracks, I guess it's just in the uv protective layer.

I might need a new tail light, ebay has them for about 50,but I don't want aftermarket parts and IDK where to get genuine at a good price

That looks like it might be car wax or detailer residue. When you say it won't wipe off, did you try a microfiber cloth? It doesn't look that bad, though.

Have you tried something a bit more abrasive - like Meguiars Ultimate Compound? I know some folks say don't polish/wax your lights but I do and have had no issues. Just take it easy.
I used Ultimate Compound on by badly clouded Tundra lights and they looked new and, stayed that way for a long long time.

No I'm worried about scratching up. The headlight/tail light and making it worse. I do have some rubbing compound though I think by turtlewax
