There are ways to improve fuel economy.

With a front wheel drive vehicle, the tires should be rotated and rebalanced every six months of 6,000 miles, whichever comes first. Exceeding that will cause premature tire wear and also likely to cause the tires to cup and become very noisy as they roll down the road. I seem to remember you...

Check the level of the transmission fluid, as low fluid can cause delayed shifting.

Make sure the automotive technician you are working with has the special training and equipment needed to repair work on air conditioning systems. Many do not and this is why you can find auto centers that specialize in air conditioning work.
