2013 Corolla LE mods?

#1
Im looking to do some work to my new car. I love it how it is, but its just who i am, I love working and modifying cars. I just need some help and suggestions of what to do. I have never worked on a newer car like this.
Any suggestion of some things to do to make it look somewhat flashy? Maybe sporty?
Thanks!

I wanted to do the same thing when I first bought my LE in October last year! Here's what I've done so far:

Added stock S spoiler (paint match of course)
Switched out interior dome & map lights for LEDs
Switched out license plate lights for LEDs
Added blue footwell LED lights
Added OE style foglights (gonna be switching out bulbs in a few days)
Switched out headlights (DRL/High & low beams)

In the future I'm gonna be switching out the tails and reverse for LED's and dropping it a couple inches

I have a thread in this forum with a pic of the fog lights. When I'm on my lunch break from work I can definitely go down to the garage and take some pics. Been meaning to "revive" the "Show It Off" thread with some pics of my ride

Better tires, better wheels, better anti-sway bars, AMSOIL synthetic motor oils to improve fuel economy and performance, etc.
I've actually thought about getting the TRD rear anti-sway bar. Haven't really looked into it though along with it's pros and cons. Also been thinking about uping the wheel size to 17" from 17" with either the TRD 5-spokes or ROTAs. But that won't be until way later on down the road, haha

Do you mean 16" to 17"? There are many drawbacks to larger wheels.

Yeah sorry 16 to 17. Yeah many drawbacks but would it really affect it THAT bad? I mean, the stock Corolla S has 17" rims and it still gets the same mileage and such. I think that as long as it's done the right way with the right upgrades it should be just fine. Tell me if I'm wrong but I HIGHLY doubt that 1 inch would dramatically reduce fuel economy and ride performance.

1" of metal replacing 1" of a tires rubber sidewall. Which is going to ride better? Which will absorb impacts with potholes, etc., better and prevent the rim from being bent? Which wheel will weigh less, reducing unsprung weight, which improves handling, performance and fuel economy?

Also, compare the price of tire's for 16" vs. 17" rims. The difference can be significant.

I'd debate the handling and performance aspect, as there is a reason why high-end performance cars use low-profile tires as opposed to tires with large sidewalls (low-profile tires have less roll in cornering and make a car's handling through slaloms more predictable).

Yes, large sidewalls give more cushion for road imperfections giving you a comfortable ride.

As far as the weight goes, aluminum wheels are pretty light. There probably isn't a significant weight change from a 16" wheel with a 65 series tire to a 17" wheel with a 50 series tire, since you ditch some rubber in place of some aluminum.
