2014 Corolla - Small Collision

#1
So I am not going to get into details but a buddy of mine backed into my 2014 Corolla L and damaged the front bumper and one headlight. Does anyone know what the estimated cost of this repair will be?

Obviously, with such a vague description and no pictures, it's impossible to even guess. But a minimum would be 1000 dollars. The headlight module is quite expensive, I thought I remembered seeing about 400. ANY kind of painting, refinishing or replacing the bumper skin, assuming no other damage, will put you over 1000. The only way to know is to go get estimates from a couple shops.

Here is the image of the damage. It is literally just damage to the bumper cover and headlight, the grills or fender have 0 damage. I was hit by someone who was going no more than 5 mph.

My guess would be 1500-2000, minimum. But you look like you may have structural damage to the bumper so likely going to be higher than that, needing more than jus ta bumper skin. Don't be surprised if you get in the 2500-3000 range. You'll still need paint blending work with your fender and /or hood. That gets expensive fast. No such thing as an inexpensive body repair anymore.

I fit is just damage to the passenger side headlight and the bumper, these are the parts you would need:

Bumper:

If you do the work yourself, you will save yourself a ton of money. If the accident is the other drivers fault and you have their details, just make them pay for it and have the dealer fix it.

Thanks for the info guys. I had an estimate done this morning. I was quoted around 1400. As for doing the work myself....no way! Firstly I dont have the ability to paint it. Secondly its a leased vehicle I do not want to take any risk in screwing up the repairs. As for it being the other drivers fault that is debatable. It happened in a parking lot and we both could have done things to avoid it. He is a good friend of mine and no reason to hurt a friendship over a little damage to my car. We are just splitting the repair bill 50/50 because neither of us can afford the possible mark on our insurance.

I am not using cheap eBay parts on. They are aftermarket. But they are CAPA certified. Also I plan on keeping the car after the lease...
