Hi all, I thought I'd share this experience since it might be helpful to some in the future.
On Monday morning (still dark out) I hit a peel of a semi tire that was on the road! (HWY) It made some loud noises but I didn't think too much of it. When I parked at work I realized there was some nasty scuffs on the bumper. the shield underneath the bumper slightly came off and there was a BIG DENT on the rear door... about six inches in diameter but very shallow. The tire peel must have bounced up from underneath the car....
I called a few places for an estimate, all around 200$-500$ for the fix.
I went to Advance Auto Parts and bought a 3M Autocraft Dent Puller and some Turtle Wax Polishing Compound.
This 16$ fix was magic!!!
I placed the dent puller slightly above the dent (nearest flat surface) and gave it one tug and the dent popped right out.
The polishing compound removed the scuffs with a few fierce rubs.
I screwed the bumper shield back into place
The car looks exactly the same as before the incident!
