How Often Do You Change Your Oil?

#52
Unless you're out of warranty and want to extend your drain interval past 10-15k miles, there is no need for Amsoil. To many excellent oils on the mkt that conform to Toyota's maximum 10k mile interval. If extending past that, get a few UOA done to get a better understanding of how the oil holding up.

Original equipment parts and oils, (or aftermarket parts and oils manufactured to the minimum quality standards of O.E. specifications), are indeed fine quality and a motorist will usually have no problems using them. They are, okay.

However many motorists keep their vehicles for a long time, or drive their vehicles hard, or want something better than minimum performance parts and oils, recognizing the economy provided by longer lasting, better performing parts and oils. They want something better than just, "okay". So they install better tires, wheels, brakes, wiper blades, exhaust systems, headlights, air filters, sound system speakers and superior performing AMSOIL synthetic motor oils.

Here is a link that goes into this in detail - Why AMSOIL? - www.amsoil.com/why/index.aspx?zo=349698

AMSOIL synthetic motor oils provide many more advantages to competing products than merely safe, long drain intervals, (up to 25,000 miles/1 year whichever comes first). Also, we must remember that drain intervals in and by themselves do not affect a new vehicles warranty. Extending oil change intervals will not in and by itself void a new vehicles warranty. To affect the vehicle warranty, it must be determined that the lubricant was directly responsible for the failure; if the oil didn’t cause the problem, the warranty cannot be voided, regardless of brand or length of time in use. This is the law. For further information call the AMSOIL Technical Department at (715) 399-TECH (8324) with questions or issues regarding warranties.

Some of the advantages AMSOIL synthetic motor oils offer vs. competing products are low pour points, for easy cold-temperature starting.
Low coefficient of friction for excellent fuel mileage.
High oxidation resistance for an internally clean engine.

AMSOIL products are designed to help vehicles and
equipment.
• last longer
• need fewer repairs
• perform better – more responsive, more power
• get better fuel economy (more miles to the gallon)
• emit cleaner exhaust

The below five minute video provides more information. For anyone that would enjoy the savings of wholesale prices for AMSOIL synthetic motor oils, (which are about 30-40% lower than retail prices, the same prices I pay as an AMSOIL Dealer and are usually lower than competing synthetic oils), contact me and I will help you out.

I'd hardly label Mobil1, Pennzoil Platinum, Castrol Edge or various others... "just OK". Not that Amsoil isn't great oil either.

Okay meets minimum performance specifications.

AMSOIL synthetic motor oils have never been a minimum performance synthetic motor oil, but have always been the best available.

bottom line is, we need to put oil into the engine. the right way and amount of oil when changing it is important. remember for new cars (lets say below 75K) , normally engine when running, it is burning oil. and when engine gets older, it burns more. so always check the engine oil level (in flat/even surface). you will know. you wont miss it.

and when the time comes engine is eating much oil (say for 2 weeks, it eats up around 100-150ml), you just top it up, and will like heating 10K without replacing the filter and oil. why? because you keep on adding new oil (mixing up the contaminated oil and water/moisture)
