I tried to find the chrome ring, all I could find was the NEO chrome. I’m not into that. But I might take the ring off the one I bought and put it on my stock boot, if it’s as easy as you say. The shift rod is chrome too, so I think it will all match up nicely! Thanks!!

So I purchase a suede boot with chrome top from sickspeed.com Hope it fits. I will probably take it to an automotive upholstery shop. Not something that I want to mess up, I’m not much of a seamstress.

I agree! I’m looking for a boot that just has a chrome ring on the top that can just free float on the shifter rod. I don’t need the boot attached to the shifter. We’ll see, still looking for that special one. Lol

Me too! The shift plate that has just the slots and no boot, is on European models only. Best I can determine. Right hand drive. I might get a universal LEATHER boot and make it work. I’m also looking into the TRD Pro shifter for the Tacoma. It has a square base for the factory boot to reattach to.

For safety. There are normally two positives serving the radio. One is switched, the other is constant for memory. Both are fused and by disconnecting the negative first, you won’t blow any fuses.

Disconnect the negative on your battery and wait a few minutes to reconnect. Might force the radio to hard reset. I can’t believe how many problems there are with Toyota’s radio these days. Not limited to Corolla’s.

...I’m gonna need to do something with the shift boot. I might buy the shift plate that goes on the automatic model since the rod is chrome. Any other ideas would be appreciated! PN: PTR51-00110

I have the same unit, but ended up swapping it out with a Kenwood 9904s. If I ever decide to switch it back, I’m doing this! Of course that all depends on if it still works. At the rate the factory radios are failing these days, it’ll probably never work again.

Ok, I see now. It’s been glued in there before probably because it’s broken. You can buy that tweeter pod for $15-$25 from toyota. Might even be less. Google the part number off the back of it.

I knew it was possible! The connector for the Maestro has video cables that plug into the back of the factory radio. Hard to explain, but I knew it was possible!!

The sound comes from the roof? I’m about to replace my TRD springs with coilovers, kinda for the same reason. The rear’s are making noises but not from the roof. Lol

If your talking about the tweeter in the door... They pop out very easily. They also pop back in very easily too. You shouldn’t need to super glue it back together. Did you buy the car new?
