    1996 Corolla DX Wheel Squeak

Welcome to the Corolla Forum!:clap::):thumbup1::balloon:  The way to properly repair a vehicle is by diagnosing the problem and then repairing it. Spending money needlessly on parts ends up with a lot of money wasted, the trash can full of perfectly good parts and...

Just as with any other aftermarket part, they'd have to prove the aftermarket part caused the problem. Otherwise, by federal law they have to honor the warranty.

Do I Really NEED This Part?

Petroleum oils are not bad at all. They are perfectly fine. Petroleum oils have been around for many, many decades. Technology has evolved and since 1972 when AMSOIL pioneered the synthetic oil industry for cars and trucks with the worlds first 100% synthetic API qualified motor oil, now we...

Consider using the AMSOIL Dual Remote filtration package or the Bypass oil filter for better filtration and oil cooling.

AMSOIL can't repair mechanical wear. Never has and never will. What I'm saying is that all those miles on an old technology petroleum lubricant allowed wear and tear to occur that AMSOIL synthetic motor oil could have prevented.

Then there has to be some mechanical issues going on. With that many miles on dead dinosaur squeezings, a lot of wear and tear went on.

You are probably hearing more valve train noise because the AMSOIL synthetic motor oil helps an engine to run quieter, so the valve train noise is no longer being masked/drowned out by other engine noises. This is very common. But you do have the 10W-40 on hand anyway.

You betcha. Polaris. I've been using them for years. Their oil analysis reports are much more complete and include the very important TBN testing. An oil could be fine in every category, but if the TBN is depleted, the oil should be changed to avoid engine damage. Without TBN test results...

A valve cover gasket that has become that hard is because of hot engine temperatures. Gotta love those old technology petroleum oils.:thumbdown: High technology AMSOIL synthetic motor oils help reduce engine temperatures. You're engine is loving you now!:)

I'm surprised you use Blackstone. The comments I've seen on their reports many times seem rather unprofessional. They also don't include the critical TBN testing in their basic kit and you have to pay much more for the TBN testing.

    Squeaky Brakes

Need more information. Are you certain it's the brakes causing the noise? How many miles are on the brakes since they were last replaced? Is the squeaking noise coming from the front or the back of the car? Does it make any difference with the noise if the car has been driven for a while...

Increased temperatures decreases oil life. An oil filter is the only place where the hot engine oil can be cooled by outside air. Reducing that cooling can have detrimental affects on oil and engine life.

    2007 Corolla LE

When we oversize oil filters, the amount of air flowing around the oil filter is reduced, which reduces the transfer of heat and reduces cooling of the oil. This can cause oil temperatures to rise. Also, an oversized oil filter is closer to hot engine parts, which can also increase...
