    Toyota Extra Care Platinum Warranty

Short answer is to pass on the offer from your dealer. I was quoted $940 for zero deductible 8-year/75K warranty from Molle Toyota. I don't drive enough for 125K warranty, but I would expect them to offer a good deal on that as well. Molle Toyota 601 West 103rd Street Kansas City, Missouri...

    Wanted to Share My Tint

Be certain to verify that - I find it hard to believe they would write the actual law this way. You can see the driver/passenger through limo tint on all the windows including the windshield, if ambient light is low, there is some light inside the car and you are shining a bright enough...

    Paint Protection Film

Actually nice - as long as they didn't upcharge too much for it. (And even if they tried to - you could probably get away with "The dealer across town has his car for $700 less but he didn't put the PPF on it, and I'd just as soon not have that ...")

    Paint Protection Film

Haven't ever done it, but have considered it on several cars. It is popular on Corvettes and BMW's and Ferarri's. Tends to be pricey most anywhere. Can't really be a bad idea with the water-based paints that the EPA is requiring that chip more easily than previous cars.

    Intake? Mpg?

On the face of it, correct. Now, if the aftermarket filter let's more dirt into the intake manifold and that ends up making a valve stick ...

How to Disable The Seatbelt Alarm on A 2014 LE Corolla

Actually - I would have had a problem with him just posting the E-bay link. In this case, there were twelve other replies saying it was a bad idea, so I was okay with it. A lot of times people don't think through all the consequences of their actions ... For example -...

    What Oil?

http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2652771 Oddly - it's apparently been around for at least 2 years - even though I hadn't heard of it until the post above. Also - oddly - as mentioned in the link above - Toyota specifies a 10K OCI for 0W-20 oil and a 5K...

How to Disable The Seatbelt Alarm on A 2014 LE Corolla

Reply number 13 is less than $5.50 shipped. If that is too expensive/complicated for you, either buckle the case of water bottles in or let it chime until you get home with them. (I assume you don't have a case of water bottles constantly on the front seat in case you need one while driving.)

    What Oil?

Didn't get the answer I was looking for ... To paraphrase - You basically said Pennzoil, Quaker State, Mobil 1, Castol Syntec are crappy Grade III oils (my words, not yours exactly), but Toyota says I can use them in the Corolla for 1-year or 10K mile OCI's. I asked if Amsoil OE was a Grade...

    What Oil?

http://www.amsoil.com/shop/find/product/oez?zo=349698 Is the base level Amsoil 0w20 also either Grade IV or Grade V?

    What Oil?

I'm not in the oil industry and I've never seen 0W-20 in even a semi-synthetic. 5W-20, yes. Either the Honda dealer is using something like 5W-20 and telling you it is 0W-20 (most likely), or they are discounting to oil change price for goodwill and to get you in the shop for other repairs. I...

    Steelie Center Caps?

Yep, there likely is a generation gap - as Ronnie Reagan said - "I promise not to hold my opponent's youth and inexperience against him." (Although if you don't remember the 1980's Tercel, you might have to Google the quote as well) (from another site - he was 73 at the time of the debate)...

    Help Requested On Price

Good - I don't like red interior lighting (although I wouldn't boycott a car b/c of it). I hope if they were going with red buttons they at least changed the background of the radio to match ...

    Alternatives To Seat Covers?

Great idea - not sure where you can buy those locally, but I know a lot of repair shops have those - they might even just give you a few for free.

    What Oil?

Good points. Not sure how Toyota care pkg handles it if you want them to change the oil at 4K miles for free ... (Personally, I trust myself over the dealer to change the oil, so might do it myself even with Toyota care, but not before 10K - although I don't think changing it more often would...

    What Oil?

Nothing in my reply said that 0W20 oil was not synthetic. Djhyper66 - According to the owners manual your car shipped with 0W20, which currently by definition is full-synthetic and good for 10K miles. I would run it for the full 10K miles before doing the first oil change, but the only reason...

    Alternatives To Seat Covers?

If he just wanted to change up the look, that would be a great idea. The problem is he works in a print shop - so spending $100-$150 for custom seat covers that are going to get ink on them isn't a great idea - plus if there were enough ink it might bleed through the new covers to his OEM seats...

    Blinker Flash Pattern Change

Lane change indication - how many times the turn signal flashes when you move it slightly to one direction but don't go past the detent where it stays on until you turn. Curious - do the dealers typically charge anything to change settings like this? (I'm guessing it might depend on where you...
