Evaporative emission small leak code 0442...need a solution

Your gas cap MAY have solved your issue. There are minor and major trouble codes stored in the vehicles ECU. Evaporative emissions is a minor code. The code needs to be deleted from the ECU once the discrepancy is attended to. Remove your pos battery cable for 15 minutes then reconnect...

    Mass Air Flow Sensor

They were black out the box...And immediately turned stainless steel...I believe the black to only be a coating to prevent rust before install? They claim to have a 1000 mile break in or set period. Gonna be some time before I can really push on them to see a difference. Yes, these and red stuff...

What year is your Corolla? Doesn't look like you had to pull the front fender or have a tough time at all getting the filter in there, and I think your supposed to. Lol.

    Muffler talk...

Lol...Sorry, it doesn't ...At any RPM or speed...Now I have never redlined it and held it there, haha.....Maybe the TRD is designed that way? I can't give reason.

Check Engine over 7 miles per hour

Plug in an obdII code reader and pull the code if the cel is on...It's really the only way to tell...Could be as simple as evaporative emmisions (gas cap) or something demanding more attention

    MAF extension

Cold air draws outside air usually from a fender or behind the grill ....Ram air is no different other that the length of the tube. The filter stays in the engine compartment and is pulling much warmer/hotter air. Which is better??? Truly they are so similar you have to look at quality and...

New cars first oil change to remove metal from break in worth it?

To say you have a trouble free Corolla with 96k is not a testament to your frequency of oil changes; it's a testament to Toyota. I had an 09 trouble free corolla and I changed the oil at 10k mile intervals due my daily long distance driving. I traded the car in with 170k only because I hit an...

New cars first oil change to remove metal from break in worth it?

I believe the art of the 400 or 600 mile oil change went out the window when engines began being hot ran (hot tested) before being sold. That said the manufacturer runs these motors before they go to the dealer. Only motor I know of that is NOT hot ran prior to sale is the Mercedes AMG. Those...

    brake info

Those look good on your ride...I called and spoke to a rep and uestioned him on the differences of the two brands. He praised each but held the EBC in slightly higher regard in performance...lord knows they are more brake then a Corolla needs...but I ordered them anyway. :-) They ship tomorrow...

    Oil Additive

Ive used additives in older Chevrolet Big Block motors...but I would NEVER use on in a DOHC newer motor such as ours. You raise the viscosity to a point where the oil is not getting where it needs to be in a tight tolerance engine...my .02
