You should have added oil as soon as you found out you were low. How did you know you drove it for 4k? Low oil may cause overheating, engine breakdown, or both. Hopefully yours is ok.

When I measured min 2017 XSE, these are these are the same measurements I came up with if I were to add spacers. The photo you posted shows a nice end result.

Nothing for me neither. I wouldn't do anything to dim my tail lights for safety reasons. IMHO, dimmed tail lights don't look appealing at all.
