2009 Corolla - AUX to USB

And I've always been a fan of Pioneer myself.

2009 Corolla - AUX to USB

Nothing like that exists. The USB itself is not a player. The AUX handles audio only. Gotta get an MP3 player.

    LED Turn Signal Issue

No doubt ... got the tools and the wiring schematic ... now I just gotta play the waiting game.

Build Your Own Sports Car From A Kit

I'd rather get the Cobra kit, with a 514 stroker, T-56, Ford 9" ... wouldn't have it any other way.

    2001 Corolla - 1ZZ to 2ZZ?

They won't be. Different harness. The transmission is the same I believe, but the wiring won't match. Also, 1ZZ uses hydraulic power steering and has the mounting hardware for it. 2ZZ uses electric power steering and thus lacks the mounting hardware.

    Clutch Slave Cylinder?

I took advantage of my 2-day subscription and confirmed what I thought. This is an integrated clutch slave cylinder/throw-out bearing. What does this mean? 1. If you change your clutch, change the slave cylinder (the manual recommends it as well). 2. Durability is questionable; however, the...

    Looky Here! LED Door Sills!

Actually ... buying a Toyota is more American than buying a Ford ... especially if your VIN starts with 5.

2013 Toyota Corolla S Makeing It Into A Race Car

Unless he turbo'd it ... probably off to a slow start. I wonder if he knows that straight pipes actually cut his horsepower because backpressure is needed to scavenge exhaust gasses out of the cylinder...

    1998 Corolla Fog Lights

Tough to say. Typically, manufacturers make two wiring harnesses. One for automatic and one for manual, regardless of options. Usually, the wiring is already there for the fog lights ... you just need the switch, the relay, and the lights themselves. If the U.S. version never came with fog...

    Knocking Noise in Transmission Area

On that note. A "friend" offered to help me with the engine swap on my '82 GT. I declined, because I'd rather do it myself and know it was done right, and he insisted anyway. Needless to say, I found out the hard way that the oil pan screws were finger tight, even though he said he tightened...

    Knocking Noise in Transmission Area

He's right. I'm gonna ask mine if I can borrow my balls for a day.

    1991 Corolla Transmission Problems

I want to say a band is too tight ... but that doesn't explain the high rpms before shifting (delayed). Possible that a solenoid is sticking, now that I think about it. Pressure builds and builds while the engine revs up then <pop> it shifts hard when it breaks free.

    LED Turn Signal Issue

Alright, this is my plan 1. When I install LEDs, deal with the hyper-flash without load resistors. 2. Wait for a junkyard to get a wrecked 2014 Corolla. Idiots are everywhere so it shouldn't take long. 3. Find a wrecked S that I can pull the Combination Meter Assembly From 4. Experiment on...

    Knocking Noise in Transmission Area

I'd get a manual, take it apart, and start the process over again, and get a torque wrench. Flywheels (for automatics they are called flex plates) are especially sensitive to torque in the proper order, and I'd bet good money that he didn't tighten it in a criss-cross pattern and that is why...

    1991 Corolla Transmission Problems

It's possible the junkyard transmission had this issue before-hand. One those years, everything is done with fluid pressure with minimal electronics, so you might need to have a transmission shop look at it. They might need to adjust the bands.

    1998 Corolla Fog Lights

Better off getting it out of a '98 - '02 (sounds like you are going the junkyard route). Later year stalks look the same, but they will have different wiring. It's possible one up to a '13 will work, but I know for a fact a '14 won't.

    LED Turn Signal Issue

Yeah ... gonna just use load resistors. I am not comfortable experimenting on what is probably a $2000 part ... damnit...

    LED Turn Signal Issue

I went ahead and got a 2-day. Turns out the Combination Meter Assembly is another term for the Instrument Cluster Assembly. There may be a setting to disable the rapid flash that the dealer can perform. I'm going to dig and see what else I can find.

    LED Turn Signal Issue

I'm a computer science major. An electrical circuit that detects bulb outages compares a load to a lower load equivalent. If the load is higher than the eqivalent, normal flash, if it is at or lower, rapid flash. And LED flasher is essentially a modified stock flasher, with the resistor in...

    LED Turn Signal Issue

Alright, and I'm guessing that the Combination Meter Assembly isn't somewhere in the dash? You can modify a resistor in flashers (and probably this device) that changes the current threshold to trigger rapid flash. But just the sound of the part suggests that it does flashers, as well as other...
