Just Got My 1995 Corolla - First Car - Need Some Info!

Can't argue that for the miles. And anything is possible if you have the tools and the know-how. Just make sure you use parts designed for the year or you'll do a lot of fabrication.

    LED Interior Lamps

Alright, so superbrightleds.com bulbs dim well with minimal flicker (I got them all in Cool White). Oh, and if you have a moonroof and want to replace the map lights, you're gonna have a bad time (didn't break anything but I did mar the plastic trim - even using a paper towel over the...

    1996 With 1.6 Need Help

Did you use dielectric grease on the cap and rotor as well as the plug wire boots?

    Question on Horn..

LMAO! Usually they are mounted near the front of the radiator somewhere. Best to get it from underneath the car most likely. You'll have to pull off all the plastic paneling Toyota put under the car.

    Question on Horn..

I just honk and flip them off. If I really feel like having fun, I'll get in front of them and slow down another 10 m.p.h. below what they were doing. It's like children, sometimes you gotta smack them around a bit before they get it.

    Supension

I had Yokohama AVID ENVigor on my 2008 Matrix. Loved those tires.

    Question on Horn..

Yeah, the horn in the Corolla just doesn't work when some prick is doing 50 mph in the fast lane with nobody in front of them.

    Oxygen Sensor

Oxygen Sensor means nothing. There are dozens of codes related to oxygen sensors that can be caused by the sensor itself, worn catalytic converter, bad wiring, a vacuum leak, etc,. You need to get the actual code before I can say if the car is safe to drive or anything else about what is...

    Tail Light Modification (Bar Light)

If you wire in parallel the volts won't double, so you'll be fine. And do what Scott said as well. Some states are less picky (in Nevada, as long as the tail lights are red and a certain brightness, you're okay, same with California). Usually it is headlights that get you in trouble, but the...

1988 Corolla FX Driving Wheel Hard To Turn Around in Cold Weather

Hmmmm ... I dunno then. Usually either it works or it doesn't. Usually you replace rack and pinions when they leak or there is a dead spot in the center (and that takes a decade to happen). Pull off the cap, start the engine when it is cold, and look for air bubbles in the fluid. Only other...

    Paint Chips

Japanese cars typically skimp on paint. My Matrix had chips as well and every time I detailed the car, I'd find another one.

    LED Interior Lamps

I want it to turn on with the door switch and parking lights, give it a feel like it came factory on the car. The circuit will be easy to design, it's just routing the wiring that will take a while. Probably mount it inside the center console as well. I'm buying the LEDs from...

Yeah, Distributors are not in OBD-II vehicles. Not sure, try rockauto.com Typically about $50 - $150

Toyota Corolla Moving When Stopped in Traffic

Check your brake system, diagnose for a leak, either in the calipers or the master cylinder. That's really the only thing that can cause what you are describing. If it happens again, pump your pedal, kill the engine. And get it looked at quick, I had a brake master cylinder go out on my '82...

    Clutch Replacement Recommendations

Centerforce has a Kevlar clutch ... I think. You're looking at about double the cost of the OEM clutch, but if you drive spirited, you won't regret it.

    Spark Plug Recommendation

Yeah it's about that time. Any parts store should be able to get you OEM or OEM spec plugs. Might not be a bad idea to change the plug wires. As far as the coil, I only replace them when the engine starts missing. Otherwise they are fine.

    Tail Light Modification (Bar Light)

Wire in parallel. Doing it in series is going to make one bulb dimmer than the other. If you have two strips, do one for one tailight, and the other in the other tailight so the circuit load is even between both lights, and you'll get less of a chance of having electrical gremlins surface.

1988 Corolla FX Driving Wheel Hard To Turn Around in Cold Weather

Is the correct fluid in it? Possible your mechanics are dumping the wrong fluid in it and that is why you keep having issues with it.
