2014 Corolla - Headlights Seriously Too Bright

There is nothing wrong with this type of headlight. They certainly are a rarity among econobox but they are more and more common. I haven't been flashed many times. Since LED are kind of "focused" it might happen on bumps where a certain angle might be reached and aimed at a coming vehicule. In...

    2015 Corolla LE replacement tires

Yes there is the fact that OEM tires aren't always the best (and sometimes special versions of otherwise renowned models) but winter tires have also come a long way in recent years. Plus your winter tires are new vs your summer ones.

New to the forum, have some questions.

LE Eco base. Spacious and comfy enough. A Camry would have been nice, a bit more comfortable but not much more spacious (except in width) and less easy to maneuver in our tight parking spaces. And cost significantly more for same level of equipment (canadian models). Car is perfectly OK in...

Corolla 2015 - Trunk Lid Opens Half way

Mine also operate the same way. So did those on my previous (other models) cars. Pretty normal as far as I'm concerned.

Weird/moldy smell from AC 2015 Corolla

Not sure it's the same issue : some Toyotas/Lexus of that year experienced residue from bad quality ducts. Not the same as mold or odor which, again, might occur in any car, depending on circumstances.

Low buzzing sound in automatic temperature control? Solonoid?

S, LE, LE Eco all have the exact same unit so if one is making a noise and not the other, then there is a problem.

Weird/moldy smell from AC 2015 Corolla

A few Corolla owners complain about it for the 11th gen also, but I don't think it is a Corolla thing. Can happen in any cars (or even home unit) depending on conditions and environment. It is often mold and there are spray treatment to get rid of it.

    Startup

A couple of minutes in winter. Maybe 30 sec. in summer. Then, if possible, drive slowly, not over revving the engine, for 4 or 5 minutes after that. The engine and lubricants will heat faster, without undue stress and other mechanical parts also (a car is not just an engine). You also get the...

    Dead battery after 5 months.

Why would manufacturer put a used battery in a new car ? And even so, might have been a warranty repair... You should have the electrical system inspected by the dealer. Definitely not normal. You once reported a strange noise from CVT. Maybe it wasn't the CVT after all...

    TPMS 2014 Corolla

Nitrogen = less leak, no moisture in the tire, stable pressure whatever the temperature or rolling heat. But not such a big deal. 10/20 minutes is rather the time of non-rolling movement that put the sensors in sleep mode (to save batteries). They wake up on their on within a couple of minute...

    Album art on display

As other said. Don't expect album art from bluetooth and even from usb connection unless your phone support some specific settings (same goes for text messaging). I rather use a usb key with the other advantage of being permanently connected without any other operation.

Odd noise, possibly related to CVT

Metal-chain, like most if not all modern CVTs. That belt is "loose" anyway as it have to move between conic pulleys. A very brief slipping/jerking feeling on acceleration from a stop is not uncommon, although not always noticed under less awareness. If the belt was broken in some way or some...

    TPMS 2014 Corolla

You can just add air if needed. The light will simply go off after a few minutes. You only need to reset it with new wheels or new sensors. Air pressure will vary according to temperature, that might trigger the light to go on. And, of course, if it frequently comes on, there simply might be a...

Warranty and Maintenance Plan, is it Worth it?

As others said : if it gives you peace of mind, fine ! But be sure to read the fine prints (exclusions, restrictions, obligation to buy specific consumable or to use only some shops, deductible, what happens if the company goes out of business...) Although called "warranties", those are rather...

turning off TPMS light after tire rotation

Well if so, here is what the manual says How to initialize the tire pressure warning system 1. Park the vehicle in a safe place and turn the engine switch off. Initialization cannot be performed while the vehicle is moving. 2. Adjust the tire inflation pressure to the specified cold tire...

turning off TPMS light after tire rotation

Does rotating the tires have an effect ? You'd still have 4 sensors and one receiver. I also know that you have a reset button on the left of the glove box (p. 450 or so of the manual). All I know is that my winter wheels/tires don't have the sensors, so the tpms light is on all winter. When I...

A/C Takes a Bit to Get Cold

You might be right about lowering emissions when the engine is cold (they're at their worst, then). I must say I haven't noticed the delay (would have to pay attention) since my experience is different than yours with other cars : I've always experienced some delay before cold air blows, so...
