Best Small SUV Alternative to Corolla?

My sister got the Chevy Trax (because of the price gap with cousin Buick Encore) for the same reasons your wife has. It's OK except for some bumps : the wheel base is quite short ! And underpowered. The Lexus NX is already out. It's a Lexus, so forget about Corolla level pricing ...

Best Small SUV Alternative to Corolla?

HR-V is a higher Fit... Not sure how quieter or less bumpy they made it. Subarus are great (Crosstek or Forester) with bumps and, according to reviewers, a bit quieter this year. But see if you need the extra-maintenance of 4WD. The RX-350 is really smooth, but in another category pricewise...

2014 Corolla With 13,500 Miles Needs Cylinder Head Replaced

Yes, but there is new and new... «New» models often used well proved components under new sheet metal. Our Corollas, for instance, except for Valvematic (Eco) and CVT's, are not so «new». The odd case will happen whatever. My LE Eco was one of the first build in Canada and not a single issue so...

Thinking About Buying A New Corolla But Have Question

That's what you described. So if you love to take turns at high speed, you might be happier with a sportier, firmer, lower car.

Thinking About Buying A New Corolla But Have Question

JD Powers are based on owner satisfaction, not test numbers. So your Corolla owner is satisfied with how it performs per his expectations, just as Mazda 3 owners. Plus it is performance and design (mainly creature comfort, equipment for price...)

Thinking About Buying A New Corolla But Have Question

    From the JD Powers page for 2014 the score would be : Corolla---> Quality [initial] : 4/5 - Performance and design : 4/5 - Predicted reliability 4/5 Mazda 3-> Quality [initial] : 2/5 - Performance and design : 4/5 - Predicted reliability 4/5 Civic-----> Quality [initial] : 4/5 - Performance and...

Thinking About Buying A New Corolla But Have Question

JD Powers, Consumer Reports and True Delta all have those two neck to neck. Mazdas used to be rust bucket, but those days might be over. Some infotainement glitches are reported. High compression engines ("Skyactive") don't seem to affect relialibility so far, nor the CVT's in Corolla. See...

Thinking About Buying A New Corolla But Have Question

Well to be honest, the 3SGT offer some equipment not even available on the Corolla (Blind Spot Monitoring system, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning System) and is certainly quicker (bigger engine) for about the same mpg (on paper, not sure about real life for the Mazda). But for...

Thinking About Buying A New Corolla But Have Question

3SGT is indeed a good driver car but when I was shopping I didn't perceive such a gap with the Corolla except... in price for similar equipment (C$ 8,000)...

new 2016 toyota corolla facelift imagens leaked

Appear to be an hybrid version. If so, not for north american but for Asia where Corolla already have a different fascia :

2015 Corolla LE Keyless Door Lock Beep

I think japanese cars have used the "microwave" beep for years now instead of the horn. Much less disturbing in residential areas.

    2014 Corolla - Factory Alarm

It is sill an aftermarket system, albeit installed by the dealer.

    2014 Corolla - Factory Alarm

There is no such thing as a "factory alarm" in a Corolla. This seems like a common practice for US dealers (would be illegal in Canada) to force an overpriced aftermarket part on the customer. It probably cost them close to nothing, as they pay to have this Karr thing installed on each car...

2015 Corolla - Bad Gas Mileage???

Your highway mpg shows that there is nothing wrong. In city, it might vary a lot but stop and go (especially if agressive - meaning breaking at the last minute instead of coasting and flooring instead of progressive acceleration) kills MPG

    2014 Corolla S CVT Problems

If it is through shift points, then maybe dlayman is right, since those are only simulated via software. A glitch ? Don't have much experience with them, since I'm a rather easy driver and they seem to come into play with "sportier" sollicitation.

    2014 Corolla S CVT Problems

Not sure I understand the description of your problem since a CVT has no gears (so no gear slip nor downshifting). It's normal for the engine to hit X rpms according to throttle pressure. The CVT takes it frome there. Jerking "a little bit" is normal on initial acceleration (more so under...

    Automatic Air Conditioning System

AC will engage automatically (but never below freezing point) even when heating, to dry the air - humidity is as uncomfortable in cold as in hot air. It probably affect MPG somewhat, but not that much. You can just manually disengage it or use the setup for vehicule options on the touchscreen ...

    2015 Corolla S - Electronic Reliable?

It is perfectly normal for the "auto" to disappear when you press whatever button on the climate control : you are entering in manual mode. "Auto" is just that - set it to a desire temperature and let it work. It will blow to the max until the set temperature is reached. So if there is a big...

    Question About AC Controls/Defrost

You can always stick with manual controls at first until around the set temperature than go back to auto. It will then quietly maintain temp (it doesn't go full blast that long in the first place).
