    2015 Corolla S Premium Bugs

That's about the EPA rating... but many reported better average here. I have the ECO and find the valvematic not that stellar in city (around 30 mpg) but great at highway speed (with cruise control, easily 50+ mpg)

A/C Takes a Bit to Get Cold

I've never measured the time frame before fan blows cold air in any of my car, so I can't say if the delay. But I've always assumed a short delay is required to first get rid of the X cubic feet of hot air accumulated in the the ducts running between the AC and the dash.

Thinking About Buying A New Corolla But Have Question

And don't forget the huge price difference !

    BlueTooth Problem

Not always a simple issue : Most bluetooth connections won't display art cover, unless both the phone and the head unit support the same specific AVRCP protocol.Don't know about neither Entune or HTC phones. I know my Nokia doesn't.So that doesn't mean that either the head unit or phone is...

Thinking About Buying A New Corolla But Have Question

It's a dealer thing (big one, also selling VW). Some of my friends still do buisness there, but most avoid it. The next one is a smaller, family owned. Night and day experience. It's a 30 minute drive (instead of 10 minutes) but it worth every one of them ! First experience with Toyota also...

    2014 vs 2015 Corolla LE

Don't think so... And your 2014 isn't old at all. Maybe the "new car" effect !

Thinking About Buying A New Corolla But Have Question

My experience and impressions exactly ! Except for local dealer trying really hard to push a different, loaded and overpriced model than the one I wanted - simply went to the next dealer. And even better MPG on highway (LE Eco). Corolla is not the "best" in any unique or spectacular category...

    2014 Corolla S add ons/mods

Does look mean ! But definitely illegal here in Canada where you are not allowed to modify lights in any way (except for different bulbs)

fake engine noise on 2015 Corolla LE ?

Fake shifts do not occur under "soft" driving. If you reach them then you are already pushing the car. It is perfectly allright and intended that way, but could explain the noise from those sollicited 132 hp @ 6000 !

fake engine noise on 2015 Corolla LE ?

Well Corolla CVT is programmed primarly for fuel efficiency, thus for gradual acceleration and "soft" driving. I certainly agree that the fake shift points are kind of defeating this purpose and don't transform it into a sport machine. So maybe that is just the car telling you that it is not at...

Thinking About Buying A New Corolla But Have Question

Not sure I would do it but the hole thing remains under the control of electronic «nannies» that wouldn't let you harm the car anyway. CVTs are far from new except in our market (concept by... Leonardo da Vinci, used in european cars since the mid 1950's and by Toyota itself for 14 years !)...

fake engine noise on 2015 Corolla LE ?

5X louder is way over the top. Maybe there is something wrong with the car, or its a perception because of the way CVTs keep the revs steady. WRX intake sound tube (and others like some Mustangs) is no mystery. Those - and fake attempts like on the Lexus - are meant to make a "sportier" sound to...

fake engine noise on 2015 Corolla LE ?

Fake noise in a Corolla... not ! They are generally quiet, except when pushed. It is not, so to speak, the purpose of the car. Fake shift points are mostly to please reviewers and, at lest with my driving, don't engage... except when the car is pushed ! Maybe it's too late but all you can do is...

    Trac light

Default is on. You have to push it (a couple of seconds) to put it off if you dont want traction control, meaning if you want the whells to spin freely (like for getting out of a snow bank)

Best Small SUV Alternative to Corolla?

Well, Buick has a better reputation than other GM brands (can't figure why...). The Encore is actually a Daewoo something or, so to speak, a higher Chevy Sonic. Its base price is higher than the top price of a loaded Corolla. As I said, that's why my sister went for the Trax, basically the same...

Best Small SUV Alternative to Corolla?

I wouldn't say Corolla got bad review from CR : it is one of their recommanded models ! Corolla (rating 71) + Ride, fuel economy, interior space, value, large trunk, secure emergency handling. - Lackluster handling, inconsistent interior quality, too easy to turn off the daytime running...

Best Small SUV Alternative to Corolla?

Mazda CX5, like all Mazdas has a very good reputation, at least in the eye of reviewers... There is also the Nissan Rogue... Yes, so many good choices. But in any case one would be looking at a very different category, especially pricewise, than the "quality econobox" Corolla ! And yes, the RAV4...

    How to lock trunk release

That's the difference I mentioned about old and new generation. The new one doesn't event a locking glove box... That being said, it must be helpful with valet service but against a robber that already has unlock your car's doors I guess it wouldn't do much !

    How to lock trunk release

Never saw such a feature on any of my car. Was not necessary on older Corolla, as the seat lever was inside the trunk itself, un like the 11th generation where it's at the top of the back seat.

Thinking About Buying A New Corolla But Have Question

Plus if you are not on a perfectly level surface - even if it seems so - your car might go backward slightly. To me that's one of the most annoying thing on the road...
