Thinking About Buying A New Corolla But Have Question

This has no direct bearing to your question. You need to test drive the Corolla. My 2015 Eco produces excessive wind noise beginning at 40 mph. The dealer "claims" mirror design. Drove another new LE and the wind noise level was actually worse than mine. The wind noise drives me to distraction...

Window Defectors or Rain Guards whatever they're called

I highly recommend the WeatherTech set. You may, of course, opt for the WellVisors at about half the price.

2015 Corolla S - LED Scuff Plates from Japan

The reply from the company was that P/N 111449364985 would not fit a US spec Corolla. The listing now states that the kit (from mittaaccessories1) will not fit US spec Corollas or right-hand drive Corollas. This appears to be the same P/N you received. Have you attempted to install the plates...

2015 Corolla S - LED Scuff Plates from Japan

The company which is listed on Ebay contacted to inform that the scuff plate kit PN111449364985 will not fit a US spec. Corolla. Has an install of said kit been accomplished on a US spec. Corolla?

2015 Corolla S - LED Scuff Plates from Japan

Please provide a source, part number, and price. The units appear to wrap over the lower door openings and I am particularly interested. Thank you.

    2015 Corolla - Towing a Small Trailer

There is a Curt hitch which is a bolt on. Tongue wt. max. is 200 lbs. I would not exceed the vehicle max. cargo wt. limit.

1994 Corolla - Rust -- The Bane of All Cars (Aside From Other Drivers)

From the photo, it looks as if the panel has some filler = past collision repair. Looks real "iffy". The problem with rust is that it is like an iceberg. You never see all of it. There is corrosion beyond what you see, and this will become evident has you sand into adjoining areas. You cannot...

2005 Corolla - Thumping Noise - What Could Be the Cause?

How many miles on this car? Has it had a 4 wheel alignment recently? I would check bushings, stabilizer links and strut bearings. I would also check any auto trans rubber mount (if applicable). The noise you hear may not actually be from the area you think.

Driver Side and Pass Window Squeaks

If the window "squeak" is when the window is moved down and up and if it looks as if the window is moving slower than usual (or binding), then you need to lubricate the glass run channels with silicone spray. If this does not work, then the ? is whether the glass run channels (which are rubber)...

2008 Corolla - Burnt ATF Fluid at 100k - Course Of Action?

I believe Toyota recommends a transmission drain/refill at 100k. As the Toyota (unlike other Asian cars) does not have a magnetic drain plug which will trap any particulate, you should not flush the system. If the auto trans has a filter I would change this, refill with fresh trans fluid (OEM...

2015 Corolla - Bad Gas Mileage???

First fill at 281 miles with 57% highway (under 65 mph) computed at 33.10 mpg. Eco system not engaged.

2015 Corolla - Replace Manual A/C Control Unit With Automatic Unit

As my ole body shop instructor used to say, "With enough time and money we can take your old door handle and build a new car around it." Can it be done? Yes. Will it cost two arms and a leg? Yes. Besides several critical components, you shall probably need to replace a couple of wire harnesses...

2004 Corolla - Aftermarket Catalytic Converter Recommendations

Lived in Massachusetts for many years. It has a stringent emission program. I used CARQUEST converters several times (had a 23 y/o Maxima). The last time the car failed emissions, on went another CARQUEST converter. Viola!

2008 Corolla - Proper Cooling System Drain and Flush?

I believe that Toyota uses a long-life pre-mix. I would drain, refill, drive for a day or so and then drain and refill. This would evacuate hoses, heater, and block. At 100k miles I would seriously consider changing all hoses, thermostat, and water pump.

    2005 Corolla - Maintenance

Two critical PM items are brake fluid and power steering fluid. Suggest you change both every 2 years.

    2007 Corolla - Mice Intrusion

With the steps I took I subsequently enjoyed 35 "mice free" days...up to the day the car was traded. The bleach idea is excellent. I am uncertain about the undercoating as the mice tended to use the engine bay and its various components on which to build nests. Thank you for the info.

2004 Corolla - Suggestions for Rear Bumper Covers

Due to the crease and missing paint, the cover will have to be refinished. In order to determine whether the section now under pressure can be relieved, some pressure and/or heat may be necessary. The cover will have to be removed from the assy in order to effect a repair which means the bumper...

2007 Corolla LE - Best Service /Repair Manual

The best is always the factory manual, but the two volumes will cost you about $300. The Chilton's should suffice. I have a 2005 Chilton's which I leave in my 2007.

    2007 Corolla - Inspection Questions

Need to check all hoses and belts. Consider changing brake fluid. I am always leery re new tires on a used car. Consider having alignment specs checked. Check cabin filter. The maintenance schedule guide is a separate booklet which should have remained with the vehicle. You can look up the...
